The "Francesco Morosini" Military Naval School of Venice opens its doors in anticipation of the imminent release of the Competition Announcement for the 2018/2019 School Year to reveal the peculiarities of the Institute in full operation and to allow young people and their families to know the life of the students.
The openings will last for well 3 weekends: the 17 and 18 February, 24 25 and March, 7 8 and April.
The Morosini is a secondary school where the last three years of the traditional scientific and classical high schools take place whose goal is to educate young people and arouse in them an interest in life on the sea, orienting them towards the activities to it connected, integrating the preparation with a pre-university education of excellence that allows the frequenters prestigious professional opportunities, not exclusively aimed at enlisting in the Armed Forces, but also for employment in the civil world.
The educational and didactic path requires constant and determined application in all the activities that mark the daily rhythm of the student's life, in which correctness, order and sense of duty must be placed at the service of the community. The school lessons are developed according to the study plan of the Ministry of Education, University and Research and the entire teaching body is made up of civil teachers of MIUR. The visitors are confronted in maritime disciplines, such as sailing, canoeing, rowing, swimming and Venetian rowing, and sports in general (athletics, basketball, volleyball, football and gym), all developed within the Institute itself, with its facilities, vehicles and boats, represents an absolute sporting and training reference.
The students are part of the representatives of the Institute and participate in the Student Championships and in various extra-school tournaments. Inside the Institute there are multimedia systems responding to the renewed current educational needs. This wealth of experience is completed by the training and winter and summer training activities including: the week of mountain acclimatization, the visit to the Commands and Bodies of the various Armed Forces as well as the naval training campaigns in the summer on the Navy School Ships ("Nave Amerigo Vespucci ”and“ Nave Palinuro ”) and the“ Force Protection ”module at the Marina San Marco Brigade in Brindisi. These activities represent a moment of personal growth and an opportunity for acquaintance and contact with different military realities for a more conscious choice at the end of the three-year school cycle.
More and more students are deciding every year to approach this exciting training and educational path by engaging in the selective competition process on a national scale, which this year will allow the entrance to as many as 70 students, 52 for the scientific high school and 18 for the high school classic. An adventure that begins with the submission of the application, but which actually accompanies the children into the future and opens up distant horizons for them. Some of them will in fact culminate the training course at the Morosini by choosing to compete for admission to the Naval Academy of Livorno and become true professionals of the sea. Today the Naval Academy counts 70 students from the prestigious Military Naval School among its attendees, of which 17 have participated and won the last admission competition relating to the 2017-2018 call.
The “Francesco Morosini” Military Naval School, together with the Livorno Naval Academy and the Non-Commissioned Officers Schools of Taranto and La Maddalena, belongs to the group of training institutes of the Navy.
Visitors will be allowed to enter, in two separate groups, at 09.30 and 11.30, without the need for a reservation.
