Nave Vespucci returns to sail the seas - stop in Genoa from 10 to 13 June 2016

The school ship Amerigo Vespucci, after a long period of rest for important modernization work, the next 10 June on the occasion of Military Navy Day will arrive in Genoa, tenth stage of the naval campaign organized on the occasion of the 85 anniversary of the ship's launch.

At the 17.30, the mooring maneuver at the Old Pier of the Cotton Warehouses in the port of Genoa, the commander of Vespucci Captain Captain Curzio Pacifici, will hold a press conference on board the ship in the presence of local authorities.

For the occasion, on the ship richest in history of the Navy, named Ambassador of RomaXNX, the parking program will be presented, scheduled until the morning of 13 June, and the important external collaborations developed by the Navy will be illustrated.

During the stop, the delivery for the "Narrative" section of the prestigious national prize "Casinò di Sanremo - Antonio Semeria" for the theme "The magic of a breath of the Sea" will be held on board.

On Saturday, 11 June, the environmental seminar entitled "Sea of ​​Liguria, between earth and sky - Protection of biodiversity and anthropic impacts" will be held on board, by the WWF Italy and on Sunday 12 June, the historical seminar entitled "On by Amerigo Vespucci ”, by the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities and Tourism (MiBACT), the Historical Office and the Hydrographic Institute of the Navy, the University of Genoa and the Museum of the Sea and of the Navigation (MuMa).

Nave Vespucci will be open to visits by the population for the duration of the stay, according to the times indicated on program of Genoa, available on the website of the Navy.
