The idea of Alberto Guarnieri, journalist and writer, curator of the exhibition, is to make the Italo Balbo character speak in first person from beyond beyond time and history. 15 prose is born, intertwined with 15 paintings created for the occasion by the artist Nani Tedeschi.
Preparations for departure, airplanes flying over the US metropolises and, step by step, phonograms and telegrams sent in real time by Balbo and those who followed the route of the historic enterprise from land and sea. These are the subjects of the over 350 illustrations, photographs and documents that make up the work of Guarnieri, testimonies - in many cases even unpublished - that can be admired in Rome, from 3 to 13 December, inside the splendid historical halls of Palazzo Aeronautica , exceptionally open to the public for the occasion.
The details of the initiative will be published on the site www.aeronautica.difesa.it
The exhibition will be inaugurated tomorrow, Tuesday 2 December, at 15.00, in the presence of the Chief of Staff of the Air Force, general of air squad Pasquale Preziosa, and the mayor of Orbetello, Monica Paffetti, from where the last July began the international tour of the exhibition.
