It was celebrated yesterday at the Navy Officers' Club of La Spezia, theEuropean Maritime Day 2017. The event was organized by La Spezia Eps, a special company of the Riviere di Liguria Chamber of Commerce and the Ligurian District of Marine Technologies, with the aim of contributing to concretely enhance the concept of "technology transfer" between research systems and business at an international level, as a strategic element for the competitiveness and growth of the sea economy, starting with the delivery of prizes to the first three Seafuture Awards 2016.
The round table was opened by Cristiana Pagni, president of La Spezia EPS, followed by Admiral Giorgio Lazio, North Maritime Command; Lorenzo Forcieri, president of DLTM; Edoardo Rixi, Councilor for Economic Development of the Liguria Region.
Cristiana Pagni, before the award ceremony, called Augusto Vecchi, president of Sea Crowd, who illustrated the innovative crowdfunding platform exclusively dedicated to the nautical and maritime sector, which as partners of the DLTM and Seafuture, will collaborate with the three winners giving visibility of their projects through the platform itself.
The acknowledgments of the best theses and technological projects in the marine field were delivered to: Chiara Del Frate, by President Forceri; Nunzio Pirrone, by the admiral Lazio; Giulio Lanuto by the councilor Rixi.
The round table then continued with Italian and foreign clusters, large companies and highly innovative European SMEs, including Cetena (Center for Naval Technique Studies, a Fincantieri Group company, which deals with research and consultancy in the naval and maritime fields ) and Cadden (Nantes).
