The Great War "passes" from Verbania

The deputy prefect vicar, dr. Michele Basilicata inaugurated yesterday, the fourth stage of the itinerant historical-photographic review of the Army General Staff in Piedmont, set up in the "Villa Giulia" headquarters, in Verbania-Pallanza, and open to the public until 20 April , with 09-19 daily schedule and free admission.

Subsequently, again in the same venue, the historical conference was held entitled "The Verbano Cusio Ossola in the First World War", with the interventions of prof. Paolo Crosa Lenz, professor and writer, and of prof. Pierantonio Ragozza, headmaster of the Liceo "Spezia" of Domodossola, who recalled the commitment of the inhabitants of Verbano Cusio Ossola and, in particular, the role of the "Cadorna" Line and, finally, the intervention of Mr. Pietro Pisano, lover of local history, on the work of the Italian Red Cross Verbanese in the Great War. The initiative, promoted by the Command of the Northern Military Region of Turin with the collaboration of the prefecture and the province of Biella, aims to recall the sacrifice of soldiers from all regions of Italy and aims to enhance the cultural heritage of Italian history. Finally, the program of commemorations for the Great War will end with the screening of the film "Fango e Gloria", in favor of the students, the 16 April at 10.30 in Omegna and the 17 April at 10.30 in Domodossola.
