Defense Undersecretary Angelo Tofalo today received Lithuanian Deputy Minister of Defense Edvinas Kerza on an official visit to Italy at Palazzo Aeronautica.
Sitting at the table to discuss cyber security, national strategies and possible perspectives of cooperation even within the framework of the Pesco (Permanent Structured Cooperation) were Professor Roberto Baldoni, Deputy Director General of the Department for Security Information, Ambassador Francesco Maria Talò, coordinator for cyber security at the Farnesina and the Ambassador of Lithuania in Italy, Ričardas Šlepavičius.
"It was an important moment of confrontation on the models of management of problems related to cyber. Lithuania is a strategic partner that has achieved a mature cyber defense capability "Undersecretary Tofalo said in emphasizing the need for "Always keep the dialogue open with all European interlocutors, especially when addressing the issue of cyber security".
During the meeting, the various models of cyber defense and the strategies that governments put in place to guarantee security during important democratic operations, such as political elections, were discussed.
Words of appreciation were expressed by Deputy Minister Kerza against the Italian national organization of cyber security, which, unlike the Lithuanian structure where it is placed under the Ministry of Defense, reports to the Presidency of the Council.

"In this light, the Defense has stimulated an inter-ministerial table useful for the realization of a virtuous Dual Use Systemic model, as strongly desired and indicated by Minister Trenta", concluded Undersecretary Tofalo, who is "Increasingly efficient and guarantees security to the country in case of asymmetric threats and critical events".
