The Undersecretary of State for Defense Angelo Tofalo yesterday received Nobuaki Miyama, commissioner of “Acquisition, Technology & Logistic Agency”, the Japanese agency equivalent to the Italian General Secretariat of Defense, at Palazzo Aeronautica.
A meeting requested by the Japanese delegation interested in strengthening the dialogue in the defense industry and exploring future collaborations, which was attended, among others, by General Nicolò Falsaperna, Secretary General of Defense / DNA.
"Japan represents an important partener for Italy", undersecretary Tofalo underlined, confirming the will of the Dicastery of "To foster, among the two Governments, cooperation in the Defense sectors able to express mutual benefits and to allow an exchange and a consequent growth of know-how".
Words of appreciation were expressed by Commissioner Miyama regarding the Italian industrial excellence of the Defense that he had the opportunity to know and deepen during his visit.
Among the topics covered also the cyber subject: "For Defense, a constantly evolving strategic sector", said Undersecretary Tofalo, "It is therefore important to continue developing and sharing cybernetic projects so as not to lag behind other nations".
Already in the 2018 meeting, Undersecretary Tofalo received a delegation from the Permanent Committee on Security and the Defense and Foreign Representatives of the Japanese Government and, soon, he will meet his counterpart to strengthen dialogue and collaboration.
