Feast of the crucified SS in Cesano

19/09/14

Cesano, a medieval village a few kilometers north of Rome, last week celebrated the 506 anniversary of the discovery of a "miraculous" wooden crucifix.

A week full of celebrations and cultural and recreational events, from the performance of the cowboys to those of the flag-wavers and parades in period costumes through the streets of the village, representing the four districts, there was no lack of moments of reflection and religious testimonies and spaces dedicated to children.

Holy Mass was celebrated on Sunday morning, presided over by the bishop of the diocese of Porto and Santa Rufina, Monsignor Gino Reali, where citizen and military representatives were present.

A moment full of emotions was when the fanfare on horseback of the 4th Carabinieri Regiment on horseback, commanded by Marshal Fabio Tassinari, entered the village, composed of 23 elements. The fanfare began its performance with the salute and honors at the monument of the fallen of all wars, where he played the song of the Piave and the anthem of Mameli. She then performed in the square with a show in honor of Bishop Gino Reali, playing songs such as Gloriosa, Feronia, Primi allori, Principe Eugenio, Gruppo squadroni.

The enthusiasm and participation of the public during the performance were great. The show was part of the celebrations of the bicentennial of the Carabinieri.

Along the main street of the village, the Cesano infantry school set up a stand where the staff illustrated the technology now supplied to the army, explaining its use.

During the event there was also a representation of the Italian Red Cross, this year is the 150th anniversary of the foundation of the military body, with a vehicle ready to assist those who need it.

The event area was perfectly managed by the volunteers of the National Carabinieri Association and by the volunteers of the civil protection.
