Sunday 8 February the first race dedicated to General Calligaris

The first edition of the new X MILIA will be played in Rome on Sunday 8 February 2015, a regional race for road racing, individual men, women and society, on the distance of the 10 Roman miles, dedicated to the memory of the general of the Army Giangiacomo Calligaris, creator of the event.

Over 2000 participants at the starting line, among which the major corporal chosen Fatna Maraoui and the Belluno Manuel Cominotto, two athletes of the Olympic Sports Center of the Italian Army.

X Milia is a running competition included in the Italian Federation of Athletics (FIDAL) calendar that develops on a flat and asphalted road for an exact total of 14.800 meters, corresponding precisely to the 10 Roman miles.

The challenge will start at 09: 30 from Via Pietro Gismondi to end in Via Montepellier in a maximum time of 135 'and is proposed as a test for all those who will face the half marathon in Rome in March. The race was born in September of 2003 from an idea of ​​the then Colonel Giangiacomo Calligaris and was only run once, the 2 May 2004.

That's why, just over a year after the general's untimely death, the organization wanted to re-propose the event by dedicating the first edition of the new version to the memory of the Italian Army officer.

At X Milia can participate all Italian athletes and athletes residing in Italy who have completed 18 years on the date of 8 February 2015 and are in compliance with the membership for the year 2015. Meeting point from 8: 30 in Via Montpellier.
