Defense: Undersecretary Rossi receives Tunisia president in Piazza Venezia

The Undersecretary of State for Defense, the Hon. Domenico Rossi, representing the Government, received today in Piazza Venezia, the president of the Republic of Tunisia, Beij Caid Essebsi, on the occasion of his state visit to Italy.

During the ceremony a laurel wreath was placed in homage to the Unknown Soldier. To make the honors an inter-force deployment of the Army, Navy, Aeronautics, Carabinieri and the Guardia di Finanza.

"President Esseb's visit to Italy confirms the exceptional nature of the relationship of great collaboration, in every sector, between our countries"Said Undersecretary Rossi, stressing that Tunisia represents"a friendly country and a fundamental trading partner, with a centrality in the north of the Mediterranean".

The event follows the meeting between president Sergio Mattarella and Beij Caid Essebsi that took place yesterday.

It is the Military Command of the Capital, led by the army corps General Agostino Biancafarina, the Army unit which, among other tasks, is also involved in organizing and managing important ceremonies in the Capital.
