Defense: Undersecretary Rossi celebrates in Rome the day of "Decorated Gold Medal at Italian Military Valor"

With the deposition of a laurel wreath at the Altare della Patria, yesterday, in the presence of the Undersecretary of State for Defense, Domenico Rossi, and representatives of the Armed Forces, the day of the "Decorated with Gold Medal for Valor Military of Italy ".

Among the decorations present, partisan Paola Del Din who fought in World War II, Lieutenant Colonel Gianfranco Paglia, advisor to the Minister of Defense, was seriously injured in the battle of the pasta factory in Somalia and Sergeant Andrea Adorno wounded in Afghanistan where with his unit he was hit by intense hostile fire.

"Many courageous men and women who did not hesitate to risk, and in many cases sacrifice, their lives to keep faith with the ideals of peace, freedom and democracy"Said Undersecretary Rossi on the sidelines of the ceremony,"Today my thoughts also go to the innocent victims of Manchester. An attack on the heart of Europe that has shocked all the countries of the Union. Many innocent victims have lost their lives due to an extremism that brings only death and suffering and must be countered with the common commitment in a European and also global key".

The Gold Medal for Military Valor represents the maximum recognition of military value.
