Commemorated today in Faedis, a municipality in the province of Udine, the 73rd anniversary of the massacre of partisans of the brigade Osoppo which took place in February 1945 in the huts of Porzus.
The ceremony, organized by the Osoppo Partisans Association of Udine, was attended by the Undersecretary of State for Defense Domenico Rossi, the president of the Friuli Venezia Giulia region, Debora Serracchiani and the gold medal for military valor Paola Del Din.
"Every form of extremism is the negation of the values of our republic to which we must all be inspired"Rossi said in his speech,"Porzus is the symbol of a shared Italy, expression of a spirit of service, a sense of duty, of social justice. The task of those who remember is to ensure that these values are passed on to young people".
After over 70 years the two associations that of the partisans of the Anpi and the Osoppo, have mended decades of disagreements and have already participated together in their respective ceremonies to commemorate the fallen since last year.
A celebration that today, the day after the demonstrations in the Italian squares for the day of remembrance of the sinkholes, takes on a particular meaning.
"Choirs like those of yesterday in our streets are unacceptable for Italian society ", Rossi has commented so what happened, "One can not speak of neo-fascist regurgitation but rather out-of-time attitudes. All those who are against these values are outside the world ".
Rossi then expressed solidarity and closeness to the police forces and the Carabinieri who were committed to maintaining order: "Men and women always in the front row who have once again been the target of violence by mobs. These are disconcerting episodes, which condemn without reserve, cowardly deeds against those who serve the State and the Institution with dedication and honor. We will always be close to our agents and carabinieri who are a reference point for all guaranteeing the democratic values and security of our country".
