Photo competition: "The path of the Great War"

01/04/15

The Army Military Command "Puglia" based in Bari and under the orders of General Natalino Madeddu, presented the photo contest "The Way of the Great War", open to all students attending primary and secondary schools.

It is about walking through the city streets and documenting with images, the streets and / or squares named after places or events of the First World War. It is no coincidence that many Italian municipalities have streets and squares named after rivers such as the Piave or the Isonzo, for generals like Vittorio Armando Diaz or at conflict dates such as 24 May 1915 and 4 November 1918.

Participants are given full creative freedom in the scenographic composition inherent to the theme or photo post-production.

The deadline for the presentation of the works is the 20 Aprile 2015.

The images must be accompanied by a brief explanatory description that does not exceed the 150 characters.

The 50 photos that best represent the theme will be published on the Army's institutional website and will participate in a traveling exhibition throughout the national territory.

The shots will not be used for commercial purposes. The competition announcement, the release, the prizes and the delivery methods can be found on the site www.esercito.difesa.it or following link.

I give you my image of a monument dedicated to one of the many soldiers fallen in battle, this in particular is represented clinging to its flag as to life, before falling. At the foot there is a plaque with the engraving "Terlizzi to his fallen MCMXV MCMXVIII".
