It took place at the Italian Military Memorial of El Alamein, in the presence of the Italian ambassador to Egypt, His Excellency Maurizio Massari, of numerous foreign diplomatic and military representatives and of authorities belonging to the Italian communities of Alexandria and Cairo, the commemoration of the 73rd anniversary of the battle of El Alamein; one of the most violent and heroic battles of the Second World War.
During the memorial ceremony moments of particular emotion were experienced during the celebration of the holy mass in suffrage of the soldiers fallen in battle and during the deposition of wreaths to the fallen by the numerous nations intervened.
The ceremony concluded with the intervention of the Italian ambassador who stressed the importance of remembering the enormous tribute paid in terms of human lives by our nation on this occasion.
