Boeing delivered the 100th EA-18G Growler to the US Navy. The Growler, a derivative of the F / A-18F Super Hornet, is an aircraft with tactical electronic jamming capabilities and electronic protection.

Due to the particular capabilities, the aircraft should remain in service until 2040.

"Given the threat perspective we are moving towards, the Growler will play an important role in identifying, tracking, targeting and potentially opening fire at the enemy," said Commander Frank Morley, program manager. US Navy F / A-18 and EA-18G, during today's handover ceremony in St. Louis.

The US Navy has 22 Growler on its list of priorities not yet funded for the 2015.
