Leonardo will provide the Qatari Navy (Qatari Emiri Naval Forces - QENF) with a Naval Operation Center (NOC) to guarantee the country the monitoring and full control of territorial waters, the Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) and adjacent sea spaces. , and at the same time to increase cooperation with national maritime safety agencies. The Center will make use of innovative technologies and systems, as well as the full integration of air and sea components. The announcement took place today at DIMDEX, the main international event in the area dedicated to maritime defense and security.

Under the agreement, the NOC will oversee the command, control and coordination of operations at sea, allowing the Armed Forces to carry out integrated monitoring, thanks to the high level of cooperation between all sensors in the field. QENFs will therefore have a fully integrated scenario awareness, supporting the tactical-operational decision-making process of all stakeholders and rapid interventions along the entire chain of command.

The naval sector represents a strong presence for the company, which is equipping, also as an integrator, the new Navy ships with its naval capabilities: from turnkey systems for combat management for all classes of military units, to naval defense systems.

This important success, which strengthens the collaboration between the Armed Forces and the industry of the two countries, was achieved thanks to Leonardo's consolidated experience in the design and development of systems capable of guaranteeing cooperation between all platforms - air, land and sea. , surface and underwater, manned and unmanned -, thanks to the supervision of operational centers, in order to allow effective planning of the mission.
