The Army wins in Budapest and Rieti

The military athletes of the Army Olympic Sports Center have achieved a series of excellent sporting results at the World Swimming Championships in Budapest and at the Italian Athletics Championships in Rieti.

At the World Swimming Championships in Budapest the Army showed off thanks to the commendable performances of its athletes. Corporal VFP4 Federico Burdisso won the gold medal in the 4x100 mixed relay, butterfly fraction, setting the European record, together with his three teammates. In addition, the VFP4 corporal Lorenzo Zazzeri won bronze in the 4x100 freestyle relay.

Notable results also came from athletics with the Absolute Italian Championships in Rieti. In particular, corporal VFP4 Alice Mangione became the Italian champion in the 400 meters and the caporal major Valentina Trapletti won gold in the 10 km walk. Followed by the corporal VFP4 Lorenzo Simonelli, silver medal in the 110 meters hurdles, the corporal chosen Sara Jemai, silver medal in the javelin throw and the first corporal Irene Siragusa who conquers the bronze in the 200 meters.
