As part of the training and international cooperation activities of the various training institutes in the Euro-Mediterranean area, a delegation of patrons of the Livorno Naval Academy prepared for one of the most important military competitions of the year, theInternational Nautical Competition, a complex of swimming, sailing, naval pentathlon and rescue competitions, organized by the 9 at the 14 in May by the Turkish Naval Academy. 11 nations took part - including Pakistan, China, the Republic of Korea, Qatar, Romania and Kazakhstan. The Livorno Naval Academy was represented by six aspiring midshipmen 3a class.
Sports competition, a challenging test bed for the body and mind, requires a lot of fortitude, patrons have to put themselves to the test, pushing their limits and their abilities beyond the many daily obstacles, pulling out grit. and desire to win, but above all determination. The spirit of sacrifice, a peculiar characteristic of each sailor, was the winning factor that pushed our young officers to compete with determination all the scheduled races.
The tenacity, discipline and teamwork have been the power factor that pushed the Naval Academy representative to achieve a well-deserved 2 ° overall place on the 11 participating nations, also obtaining the best 3 ° time of all editions of the demonstration in the swimming relay. Beyond the results, the experience of confrontation with students from many different nations, destined to meet in the future at sea, was exhilarating.
