The reconnaissance of the Italian delegation in the city of Düsseldorf, headquarters of the next ones, has ended Invictus Games 2023. The international event will see the participation of about 500 soldiers from all over the world who have suffered injuries in service.
An important event whose strength lies in combining the sporting aspect with the most genuine feeling of solidarity and sharing among its participants.
Representatives of 23 nations met in the Merkur Spiel Arena in Düsseldorf to discuss the details of the program which will also involve 9 members of Team Italia from 16 to 70 September.
- Invictus Games born on the initiative of the Duke of Sussex, Prince Harry, who, during a trip to the United States in 2013, participating in Warrior Games, ascertained the beneficial effect of sport on wounded and sick soldiers. A similar event wanted to launch it in the United Kingdom with the Invictus Games Foundation. The first edition took place in London in 2014, followed by editions in Orlando 2016, Toronto 2017, Sydney 2018 and The Hague in 2022.
The event promotes sport as a focal point for changing the lives of those who have suffered physical and psychological trauma during their service to the country. The motto of the event is "A Home for Respect" or "The home of Respect", and it is with this spirit that the Italian delegation will address the next Invictus Games.
