The Mezzalama Trophy is awarded to the Alpini at the Army Sports Centre

The 2023 edition of the Mezzalama Trophy saw the Alpini challenge the French team for almost five hours on the ice peaks of Monte Rosa, to conquer the victory which came almost three minutes ahead of the French and over seven minutes ahead of the mixed Swiss-Austrian team .​

The Mezzalama Trophy, the so-called Glacier Marathon, develops above three thousand meters and, for two stretches of the route, above the four thousand meters of Monte Rosa, between the Valle d'Aosta towns of Cervinia, Champoluc and Gressoney.

The first men's army team was made up of the first grader Matteo Eydallin, the higher grader Robert Antonioli and the higher grader Davide Magnini.

In the women's competition Alba Desilvestro, the selected graduate Giulia Compagnoni and the selected graduate Giulia Murada replicated, winning the title for the first time with a team entirely made up of Army personnel.
