The 17 and 18 September 2015, the head of the operational support department of the Joint Interforces Command (COI), Brigadier General Vittorio Iannotta, paid a visit to the Al Minhad Task Force Air (TFA) to check the status of the work after its transfer from the previous base in Al Bateen.

General Iannotta, accompanied by other official 4 members of the IOC, was welcomed by the commander of the TFA, pilot colonel Andrea Aiello, who illustrated the state of the works about 2 months from the decision to relocate the TFA on the basis of Al Minhad.

Pending the definitive repositioning and reconditioning in the new base of the housing modules transferred from Al Bateen, the TFA is located inside a camp set up by the 3rd Wing of Villafranca di Verona which ensures the "operational survival" and "support logistico ”to the departments and mobile components projected outside their offices. A subsequent period of works will make it possible to completely transfer the offices and branches of the TFA entirely within the ad-hoc housing modules prepared.

In his briefing the TFA Commander also illustrated the operational activities carried out in direct support of the "Resolute Support - RS" operations in Afghanistan, "EUTM" in the Horn of Africa and "Prima Phartica" in Kuwait / Iraq.
Words of appreciation were expressed by General Iannotta for the rapid transfer to Al Mihad by both the TFA staff and those who came in support from Italy, without the operational support activity for the missions being slowed down or canceled. Both the aircraft assets and all passengers and goods in transit, in fact, were managed by the TFA according to the times and methods envisaged.
