In recent days, in the presence of the commander of the Joint Task Force - Lebanon Sector West, Brigadier General Giovanni Brafa Musicoro and numerous local civil, military and religious authorities, the rotation ceremony of the ITALBATT Task Force, the Italian operational unit of the mission in Lebanon, took place at the Italian base of Al Mansouri, between 187th Parachute Regiment thunderbolt and the 1st regiment "Grenadiers of Sardinia".
The ceremony took place in front of the War Flags of the two regiments.
General Brafa Musicoro, in his speech underlined the importance of the work of all those who serve in the UN contingent as peacekeepers, with great professionalism, commitment and determination.
The product of the daily commitment translates into the continuous growth of security within the region and with the constant support of Peace.
The Italian mission in Lebanon, led by the "Granatieri di Sardegna" brigade since last August 2, is responsible for the West Sector of UNIFIL (United Nation Interim Force in Lebanon).
From today, the ITALBATT task force, under the command of Colonel Domenico Pisapia, on the basis of the 1st "Grenadiers of Sardinia" regiment, integrates assets of the Montebello Lancers regiment (8th) of the 3rd Grenadier command department, of the 11th regiment genius sappers and the 11th transmission regiment of Civitavecchia.
