Completed new training cycle for Kurdish military 150

The training activities for a total of one week included various activities such as the conduct of tactical actions in particular situations such as in built-up areas, knowledge of C-IED procedures (against improvised explosive devices), precision shooting with direct training small arms (course sniper) and a course in Force Protection  for the safety of barracks and Kurdish training areas.

At the same time, the instructors of the A&A (Advise and Assist) team of the Italian contingent began training on the use of mortars in favor of 12 peshmerga of the Counter Terrorism Division.

The course of the duration of 3 weeks, foresees technical activities of specialties like the use of the mortar from 120 mm with smooth core, from 80 and 60 mm supplied with Kurdish Security Forces, the topographic preparation for the orientation of the mortars in the deployment area, the calculation of the shooting data, the radio communications for the observation of the shot and the fire discipline.

In addition, staff of the Italian command staff are training over 30 Kurdish officers on the use of procedures and methodologies of military intelligence.

The Italian contingent, located in Iraqi Kurdistan and made up of about 200 men and women, since last January has trained over 2000 peshmerga out of a total of about 5000 trained by the trainers of the coalition made up of 7 European nations (Italy, Germany, Great Britain, Norway , Finland, Holland and Hungary).
