Ceremony for the return of the students of the Somali Police Force (SPF) trained by the carabinieri instructors of the MIADIT 18 mission.
The ceremony, promoted by the Italian Embassy and Military Attaché in Mogadishu, took place at Aden Adde International Airport.
The event was attended by the Italian ambassador in Somalia dott. Alberto Vecchi, the commander of EUTM-Somalia Brigadier General Fulvio Poli, the commander of MIADIT 18 Colonel CC Luciano Calabrò and the chief operations of EUCAP Dr. Dania Cossa. On the Somali side was present the deputy police commissioner of Somali Police Force General Osam Abdulahi Mohamed.
For the learners, the ceremony represented the recognition of the profuse commitment and of the results achieved thanks to the ability of the instructors, women and men of the Carabinieri, who during the course of the didactic activity carried out, in addition to instilling the desire to learn concepts and techniques, have created a relationship of trust, esteem and enthusiasm.
The training, which aims at setting up a Darawish brigade specialized in countering the threats of international terrorism that still weigh heavily on the tormented Somali territory, was appreciated in the speeches of the various authorities who intervened.
