With an exercise in focus in polygon, the phase of was concluded today mentoring led by AMISOM troops (African Union Mission in Somalia) in favor of 1St Infantry Coy "Flame" of the Somali National Army (SNA).
The activity took place under the supervision of the instructor staff of theEuropean Union Training Mission (EUTM) Somalia and saw the AMISOM soldiers involved in the theoretical and practical preparation, including the burning one. The soldiers, at their first experience of firefighting in the polygon, showed commendable participation and interest.
The EUTM-Somalia mission operates in Mogadishu from the 2014 and, in accordance with the task received with the 5th mandate, has begun to train units at the company level. A premise of this phase, the commanders of minor units and future trainers of the Somali armed forces receive specific training for their assignment. The courses are planned and conducted by the staff of the training team of the mission.
EUTM supports and advises the General Staff and the Somali Ministry of Defense through its own advisory team. To date, EUTM has trained approximately 5.000 soldiers, contributing significantly to the development of the security sector in Somalia.
