Central Italy earthquake: about 500 military anti-looting operations

The army garrison sent to Castelluccio di Norcia (PG) is operational today and from tomorrow the device sent in reinforcement for the regions of Umbria and Marche particularly affected by the earthquake of last October in the provinces of Perugia and Macerata will be completed.

About 200 soldiers of the 5 ° Alpine Army regiment have joined the Task Force "security", engaged since 24 August together with the police with anti-looting tasks, such as the fixed surveillance of the "red zone" and the patrol services of isolated and abandoned territories for security reasons.

In particular, to date, 1443 soldiers from the Army, Navy, Air Force and Carabinieri are operational in the affected areas of central Italy, providing the best skills of personnel, vehicles and special equipment for the population affected by the earthquake, in order to guarantee the safety of people and property and support for the displaced.
