This morning, at the base "Millevoi" of Shama, home of the headquarters of the Italian blue helmets, the rotation ceremony of the combat service support battalion. The regiment transit area management of Bellinzago Novarese, under the command of Colonel Mario Stefano Riva, he handed over the deliveries to the logistic regiment "Pozzuolo del Friuli" of Remanzacco (UD), under the command of Colonel Alessandro Tassi.
Brigadier General Ugo Cillo, commander of the Sector West of UNIFIL, which attended the military rotation ceremony, wanted to underline the work done by the Bellinzago Novarese military for the support provided to the whole UNIFIL sector.
In the six months of work the regiment transit area management has ensured the logistic movements by land and by sea to the personnel of the Italian contingent, managed the supplies and guaranteed the efficiency of the fleet and materials. With the health component, it also guaranteed medical assistance to the staff of the Shama base and numerous important "medical care" interventions in favor of the local population.
The current mission is to lead the "Pozzuolo del Friuli" cavalry brigade and, with the arrival of the logistic regiment, the deployment of the units for the Operation "Leonte XXI" is completed.
For the "Pozzuolo" it is the fifth mandate in the land of the cedars under the command of West Sector UNIFIL, in order to contribute to compliance with the UN Security Council 1701 resolution.
