Handover for the Italian flagship of the permanent naval group SNMG2

Handover for the flagship Italian of the operation Noble Shield, within the permanent offshore naval group SNMG2, normally located in the Mediterranean: last February 17th the frigate Carlo Bergamini – to the tactical command of Rear Admiral Pasquale Esposito – handed over the role of flag ship (flagship) of the NATO device - whose tactical command is exercised by Rear Admiral Pasquale Esposito - to the multipurpose offshore patrol vessel Francesco Morosini.

NATO's Second Standing Naval Group is one of four standing integrated multinational assets that make up the Very High Readiness Joint Task Force (VJTF) and is part of the NATO Response Force (NFR), in command of the Allied maritime component (MARCOM – Northwood).

His finished deployment, after just over two months and 9.500 miles traveled in the Mediterranean basin in surveillance activities of maritime spaces of NATO interest and monitoring of communication lines, Ship Bergamini  contributed to outlining a complete picture of the situation, the "situational awareness", making use of the support of the specialist teams of the third helicopter group of Catania and the marine brigade Saint Mark.

The unit will soon take part in the operation Safe Mediterranean, acting as flagship Of the device.
