The Train Advise Assist Command West (TAAC-W) in Herat, led by the 132nd Armored Brigade Ram, hosted today at Camp Arena a group of twenty orphaned children of the 207th Corps of the Afghan Army for a recreational and solidarity initiative organized by the military chaplain of the contingent, Fr Gianmario Piga.

The younger guests, welcomed by the TAAC-W staff, spent a few hours between games and moments of entertainment set up by Don Gianmario and his collaborators. They were also donated games, backpacks, school supplies and blankets, purchased with voluntary donations from the military personnel of the TAAC-W.

In the presence of the commander of the TAAC-W, Brigadier General Enrico Barduani, a check for 1.500 euros was delivered on behalf of the Association for Spiritual Assistance to the Armed Forces (PASFA) for the families of the orphans of the fallen soldiers of Afghan army. “With initiatives such as today aimed at a weak section of the local community - said General Barduani - the Italian contingent wants to further demonstrate the closeness and support to the Afghan population engaged in the difficult path of normalization and growth of their own society. "

The imam of the 207th Afghan Army Corps, thanking the TAAC-W staff for the welcome and solidarity shown, expressed appreciation in favor of the Italian contingent and of the PASFA for the attention given to these unfortunate children and to their families.
