Last Sunday, in the central-southern Mediterranean Sea, the command of the fishing vessel Olympia, flying the Italian flag, following the worsening of the health condition of a crew member of Tunisian nationality, asked for medical support to ship Sirocco, unit inserted in the "Safe Sea" device.

The medical team of the Sirocco, having ascertained the precarious health conditions of the sailor, he evaluated late in the evening the need to transport him by helicopter aboard ship Cavour, flagship of the EUNAVFORMED operation, where a real ROLE 2 hospital is embarked. On board the Italian aircraft carrier, the specialists immediately carried out clinical-instrumental checks.

The patient, after undergoing pharmacological and stabilized therapy, was transferred by helicopter to the Lampedusa medical center.
