NRDC-ITA - BLS-D course for instructors for lifesaving maneuvers concluded

Between 9 and 11 December the course for Instructors of BLS-D (Basic Life Support-Defibrillation) was organized by the command of the NATO rapid reaction army corps (NRDC-ITA) based in Solbiate Olona at the "Ugo Mara" barracks and held by personnel of the "American Heart Association", an association that from the 1915 is working all over the world to reduce the number of victims of heart disease.

The course, recognized by the AREU, Emergency Regional Emergency Company, enabled 8 Italian and foreign soldiers on duty at the "Ugo Mara" barracks to train new rescuers, and had as its arguments the set of life-saving maneuvers (and related teaching techniques), to be carried out in the event of arrest cardiac, including the use of new AED devices, i External Automatic Defibrillators.

"Our commitment to training aims to make our barracks a safer place to work", says Colonel Michele Tirico, consultant for the medical and health aspects of the command of the corps, "as well as the houses , and in general, the places frequented by our military. Furthermore, taking advantage of the recently acquired and certified skills of our BLS-D Instructors, we will soon be able to activate new courses useful for spreading the knowledge necessary to be able to provide effective and immediate assistance to the citizens in difficulty that we have to meet in our daily lives ".

These courses may be attended by military personnel who need to complete and enrich their training, but also by their family members and civil servants of those institutions that in the territory repent the need to improve the training of their personnel. This with a useful return in terms of security for all citizens of the province of Varese and the realization of virtuous synergies between State Bodies.

The command of NATO's rapid reaction corps in Italy, based in Solbiate Olona (VA), is one of the nine high-profile operational allies currently operating. Italy is its leading nation, and provides about 70% of personnel drawn from the Army, the Navy, the Air Force and the Carabinieri.
