Niger: humanitarian aid for Niamey orphans

As part of the civil-military cooperation activities and in harmony with its motto "Non Nobis Solum", the Italian contingent of the MISIN mission concluded a CIMIC project aimed at supporting two orphanages in the city of Niamey.

The commander of the mission, air brigadier general Marco Lant, and a representation of the contingent in Niger were welcomed by pastor Moussa Hamani Ali, president of the association that manages the orphanage "Le bon samaritain" to which food, material didactic and games, in favor of the approximately 80 children welcomed by the structure.

The pastor thanked Italy and MISIN, expressing deep gratitude for the help received during the difficult time caused by the Covid-19 virus.

Subsequently, a representative of the Italian mission in Niger went to visit the orphanage "Fraternité Notre Dame", to which, welcomed by Sister Maria degli Angeli and about 50 children, were donated humanitarian aid and educational kits for the start of the new school year. 

Sister Maria expressed words of gratitude for our country and the Italian military, underlining the joy of the children of the orphanage in having received the games, educational aids particularly appreciated by the children hosted.
