The frigate has returned to La Spezia Antonio Marceglia, after completing six months of operational activity in the Baltic Sea.

During its stay in the area, the frigate operated as part of the NATO operation "Brilliant Shield", with the task of contributing to the strengthening of the eastern flank of the Alliance and strengthening the NATO naval device already operating, called Standing NATO Maritime Group (SNMG 1), with maritime surveillance and air defense tasks. In fact, thanks to the certification obtained from NATO air command - NATO AIRCOM, the Marceglia ship was also integrated into the Alliance's air and missile defense system.

During the 194 days of activity, the ship exercised the so-called Naval Diplomacy, visiting the ports of eight coastal nations, promoting, in competition with the national diplomatic offices, the Defense sector and the Country System.

The frigate Antonio Marceglia was replaced in the Baltic Sea by the same class vessel Luigi Rizzo.
