MIBIL and the Lebanese Special Forces: first ISR & TA course completed

Within the activities of MIBIL (Italian Bilateral Military Mission in Lebanon, ed.), the first ISR & TA course (long-range patrolling, information search and target acquisition) ended today, after two intense months of training at the national training center located in southern LEBANON.

Instructors belonging to the 185 ° regiment Objective Recognition and Acquisition Folgore of the Italian Army, have taught the visitors, belonging to all the components of the Lebanese Special Forces, how to plan and conduct occult activity of approach, how to identify and acquire a goal, how to build observation posts, carry out the evaluation of a threat and the identification of the appropriate means for the subsequent neutralization.

The close collaboration with the Training Department of the Lebanese Armed Forces, has allowed MIBIL to carry out, for the first time in this particular operational context, the specific training programs, developing about 200 hours of advanced training - both in the classroom and on the ground. - aimed at increasing the capacity of all the components of the Special Forces, elements generally used to counter the various threats - both internal and external - in all areas of the country.

The outcome of the course was extremely satisfying, consolidating the marked interest of the Lebanese military authorities in the collaboration with the Italian Armed Forces and fully confirming the validity of the mission and the training project.
