MIBIL: completed the second course "Counter Sniping Advanced" in favor of the Lebanese armed forces

The second course ended at the As-Samayah Training Center Counter Sniping Advanced led by a Mobile Training Team of the Cesano Infantry School of Rome in favor of the military 15 of the Lebanese armed forces (LAF) who had successfully passed the basic course conducted in the first half of the 2016.

The instructors of the Italian Bilateral Military Mission in Lebanon (MIBIL) - in 4 weeks of intense work carried out through theoretical and practical lessons - they transmitted the advanced notions of the Counter Sniping to the visitors, in order to specialize them in the use of fast shooting and counter sniping techniques.

Il Counter Sniping it is a complex and constantly evolving subject. The sniper is a specialist in possession of a vast and diversified technical-professional preparation, ranging from observation techniques, to ballistics, to the methodologies of indication and contraindication of an objective.

During the closing ceremony of the course, attended by representatives of the lebanese armed forces and of the ggeneral security, the col. Maurizio Settesoldi - commander of MIBIL - before proceeding with the delivery of the certificates, emphasized that the objectives of the course have been fully achieved also thanks to an intense and consolidated collaboration between the Italian and Lebanese armed forces and, more generally , between Italy and Lebanon.

La Italian Bilateral Military Mission in Lebanon (MIBIL), operating in the theater since last 25 February 2015, aims to coordinate and develop - both in Italy and in Lebanon - the training activities in favor of the Lebanese armed forces (LAF) in the broader context of the initiatives of theInternational Support Group for Lebanon (ISG).

During the 2015 12 courses were carried out, in which 22 officers, 76 non-commissioned officers and 130 troops were qualified, for a total of 228 visitors and over 1000 hours of lessons (of which about 500 of theory and 500 of practice) .

During the 2016 14 courses have been held to date, in which 59 officers, 88 non-commissioned officers and 104 troops have been qualified, for a total of 251 visitors and over 1150 hours of lessons (of which over 500 of theory and practice 650).
