The commitment of Nave Bergamini in the Agenor and Atalanta operations

Ship Bergamini it has been engaged in operations since 21 January outside the Mediterranean. 

The frigate operated in support of the AGENOR operation which is part of the coalition initiative called EMASOH, of which it constitutes the military pillar.

It is a European aero-naval device with a predominantly maritime connotation, deployed in an area that includes the Persian Gulf and the Indian Ocean region corresponding to the Omani coasts, which has the objective of safeguarding the freedom of navigation and the safety of ships in transit in the Strait of Hormuz area.

Ship Bergamini, in addition to carrying out specific "escort" activities to safeguard merchant shipping in transit in the Strait of Hormuz, a sensitive crossroads for international maritime traffic, participated in theInternational Defense Exhibition – Naval Defense Exhibition (IDEX-NAVDEX), held in Abu Dhabi from 20 to 24 February. In this context it was able to show itself as a real jewel of cutting-edge engineering and technology made in Italy, in one of the most important international showcases for the defense industry.

From February 26th Nave Bergamini returned to the Indian Ocean, to become part of the "ATALANTA" anti-piracy operation, which is assigned tasks of prevention, contrast and deterrence of the phenomenon of piracy in the Red Sea, Gulf of Aden and the Horn of Africa.
