The activities of the Hippocratic Task Force (TF-I) framed in the Bilateral Mission of Assistance and Support in Libya (MIASIT), during the emergency dictated by the COVID 19 pandemic, continue with the adoption of the prevention measures recommended by the World Organization of Health, taking the necessary precautions to prevent possible contagion.

In recent days, a training activity was conducted at the Misrata compound for Employees in the use of firefighting self-contained breathing apparatus which had the aim of providing the personnel of the fire emergency teams, enabled for high risk, with the knowledge necessary for the correct use of 3rd category Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for the respiratory tract.

In particular, the activity highlighted the ability of the personnel of the emergency teams to intervene by implementing the procedures provided for by Legislative Decree 8108 and Ministerial Decree of 10 March 1998. The practical test consisted of an intervention inside a burning building with subsequent exfiltration of the unconscious wounded and transported with a stretcher and thermal blanket.

The use of smoke-generating devices and all the required PPE (helmet with visor, heat-resistant gloves, face mask, jacket, fireproof trousers and boots and self-contained breathing apparatus) was used to allow the military to immerse themselves in a scenario strongly relevant to reality.
These activities are framed in a training context aimed at maintaining the operational efficiency of the unit through the verification of knowledge and the correct implementation of the procedures to be put in place in emergency or threat situations.
