The activities carried out by the blue helmets operating in compliance with the UN Security Council's 1701 resolution and the possibility of increasing the Armenian contingent in southern Lebanon, were the main topics treated by General Portolano during the meeting with the Minister of Defense .
On the sidelines of the meeting, the general expressed words of appreciation for the service rendered by the Armenian blue helmets as part of the UNIFIL mission.
Subsequently, Minister Ohanyan visited Shama where he greeted the Armenian personnel employed in the Italian-led operation area with force protection tasks.
Armenia is present in Lebanon with 33 blue helmets from the November 26 last year.
