The cooking course organized by the Italian contingent in Lebanon in the municipality of Ma'rakah has been very successful.

At the closing ceremony and delivery of the participation certificates, the mayor of the municipality Adel Saad was present and representing the commander of the Sector West of Unifil (United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon), Colonel Mario Stefano Riva commander of Combat Service Support Battalion.

The activity was conducted by the military of the regiment Transit Area Management of Bellinzago Novarese with battalion seconded to Bari, in synergy with the female community of Ma'Rakah directed by laila Najim. Also present at the ceremony were the mayors of the municipalities of: Abbassiya, Tayr Dibbah, Tura and Yanuh.

This activity, not new to the Italian blue helmets, is cyclically requested by the local communities that appreciate culture and in this case Italian cuisine allowing to consolidate, more and more, the excellent relationships already existing between the national contingent and the population.

The Italian contingent in Lebanon is currently leading the "Pozzuolo del Friuli" cavalry brigade under the command of Brigadier General Ugo Cillo in command of the Sector West and have been contributing for ten years to ensuring compliance with the UN Security Council 1701 resolution.
The primary purpose of the mission is to restore the necessary stability and security to allow the government of Lebanon to regain effective control of the south of the country and allow the population to return to normal conditions to which it is entitled.
