Lebanon: Italian solidarity with the Lebanese population

In recent days, the Italian contingent in Lebanon, based on the "Pinerolo" Brigade, delivered a cardiograph to the AMEL Association and toys to the Association of Women Association Of Qana.

The cardiograph project is an initiative of the Carabinieri Nucleo of the Military Police of the Italian contingent in Lebanon, under the command of Brigadier General Stefano Del Col, and of the Delegation of Puglia and Lucania of the Holy Military Order of Malta, coordinated by the Cellula della Civil Military Cooperation (CIMIC), have made this important donation to the AMEL Association of Tiro, an ancient and important city on the coast in southern Lebanon, within the Italian area of ​​responsibility.

The association AMEL is active in several municipalities of South Lebanon, in particular the structure present in Tiro provides health prevention services, assistance to children and pregnant women, promotes the integration between different peoples, addressing the most in need among the Lebanese population and assisting Syrians and Palestinians.

On the same day, the Italian blue helmets delivered numerous toys, donated by the National Bersaglieri Association (ANB) of the Bari Section, to the Woman Association of Qana, the association of Lebanese Muslim women who provide assistance to other women regardless from the religious creed to which they refer.

There are numerous projects carried out by the Civil and Military Cooperation with the collaboration of associations, companies and Italian companies that have been invited by the Contingent in a real "solidarity operation" have sent non-perishable materials of all kinds to the Lebanese population for interventions in health, education, education, transport and sports sectors.

The Italian contingent in Lebanon has the responsibility of the West Sector of UNIFIL where a multinational contingent of 3500 soldiers, from 11 different nations, operates, and of these 1000 are Italian.
