22/01/18

The first edition of the "Sharpshooter skills" course, aimed at providing participants, all belonging to the Italian-led parachute brigade "Folgore", ended in Shama, at the headquarters of the command of the Western sector of Unifil General Directorate of State Security (GDSS) Lebanese, the basic knowledge for the use of the armament supplied with precision shooting over long distances.

The visitors followed theoretical and practical lessons focused on observation and estimation of distances, identification, identification and indication of targets, zeroing of the weapon supplied and pointing and shooting techniques.

In addition to classroom lectures and activities in white, the Lebanese personnel had the opportunity to practice on fire, at the firing range of Al Naqoura, where during two intense days all the concepts acquired were put into practice.

The number of participants, 2 non-commissioned officers and graduated 14, is significant, as it confirms the considerable interest and importance that the joint training with Unifil - and in particular with the Italian armed forces - plays for the Lebanese counterpart.

In fact, it is a fruitful interaction, with highly technical and qualifying contents, aimed at acquiring concrete operational capabilities for the Lebanese security forces, in the spirit of the UN 1701 Resolution.
