The commander of the Joint Task Force-LebanonBrigadier General Francesco Olla, along with a delegation of command officers, visited the Province of Bint Jbeil, one of the major cities in the western sector of UNIFIL, and was received by the president of the association , Mrs Daad Ismail, and the director, Mrs Mariam Srour.

Ms. Ismail stressed the important role of the Italian contingent in giving support to associations and social institutions, as well as thanked gen.b. Olla, his staff of officers and soldiers for attending the 2016-2017 school year end ceremony and for all initiatives aimed at continuous support for students from southern Lebanon, especially those with special needs.

The gen.b. Olla, head of the operation "Leonte XXII" from the 27 last April, in turn highlighted the efforts made by Mrs Daad Ismail and the association's management to ensure the education and care of these children, expressing his admiration for the advanced school program developed.

The association, founded in the 1996, takes care of minors and adults with special needs starting at the age of three years up to the age of twenty-five; aims to train students through specialized personnel in the field of special education, doctors and social figures, in order to make children as independent and productive as possible. The association also aims to provide school education, which qualifies them for professional and manual skills that facilitate the process of integration into society.

The activity is part of the numerous projects developed by the staff of CIMIC (Civil and Military Cooperation) framed in the command, based on the brigade “Granatieri di Sardegna”, of the Joint Task Force-Lebanon, as required by the UN Security Council Resolution 1701 of the 2006.
