A technical laboratory and a photovoltaic panel lighting system: these are the two new civil-military cooperation projects carried out by the Italian contingent in southern Lebanon in favor of the local population.

The technical laboratory, established in the Rumyah public secondary school, will allow students from three southern municipalities, located close to the blue line, to deepen scientific subjects by acquiring, through continuous and systemic use, the research method typical of these disciplines.

In the village of Qallawya, the Alpini of the Taurinense Brigade completed the construction of the photovoltaic panel lighting system, strongly requested by the population to improve the livability of the area.

Moreover, thanks to the collaboration of the Novara Calcio, team that plays in the Serie B football championship, and to the Busto Arsizio Volley, the A1 Series women's team, sports uniforms were donated to the secondary school students of Naqoura, thus starting and for the whole duration of the school year a sports initiative.

Currently the Joint Task Force - Lebanon consists of 1100 men and women, mainly made up of soldiers of the Taurinense Alpine Brigade, stationed in Turin. Italy is also entrusted with the command of the Sector West of UNIFIL (United Nation Interim Force in Lebanon - SW) - since 14 October 2015 with Brigadier General Franco Federici - in the NSBNBC (Non-Standing Bi-National Brigade Command) conformation, non-permanent bi-national Italian-French command composed of the Taurinense Alpine Brigade and the 27th French Mountain Infantry Brigade.
