Lebanon: first CBRN defense training course started

For some days the instructors of the Italian Bilateral Military Mission in Lebanon (MIBIL) have started the first training course in the defense of Chemistry, Biology, Radiology and Nuclear (CBRN Basic Course) in favor of the Lebanese Armed Forces.

The activity is carried out by a mobile training team (MTT, Mobile Training Team) made up of specialized personnel of the 7 ° NBC "Cremona" Defense Regiment of the Army.

The activity, carried out at the Italian Training Center located in the South of Lebanon, will last for three weeks and is intended to allow the military of the Lebanese Armed Forces to attend the course, a basic knowledge of the techniques and current procedures on CBRN defense. In particular, the characteristics of the main chemical, bacteriological and radiological agents, the main protection techniques, both individual and collective, identification, identification and decontamination will be illustrated, in order to allow the frequented staff to reach an adequate theoretical and practical knowledge of the subject. .

Specifically, the theoretical part will focus on topics related to the CBRN danger, the rules for the branching of the alarm and the main instructions on nuclear and radiological risk, with in-depth analysis regarding radioprotection, dosimetry and will also illustrate the classification of the aggressive chemical and biological. Finally, during the course, models with which to manage the event caused by the release of toxic substances of industrial origin will be investigated.

The tools and materials used for the practical part are those supplied to the 7 ° Regiment "Cremona" Defense NBC.

The CBRN course represents the third training cycle carried out by MIBIL in the AS-SAMAYAH Training Center, after the one for "Military Rescuer" 1 (LeFReT), held by the instructors of the Army Health and Veterinary School, and the one still in progress of "Crowd Control" 2 (CRC), carried out by the soldiers of the Carabinieri.
