Division General Luciano Portolano, head of mission e force commander of UNIFIL, today received the Austrian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sebastian Kurz, who came to visit the Austrian soldiers stationed at the Mission Headquarters in Naqoura.
During the meeting, General Portolano illustrated to the minister the main lines of action of the mission, with particular reference to the state of implementation and implementation of the 1701 Resolution and to the evolution of the internal political and regional security framework.
On the sidelines of the meeting, in thanking the minister for his continued support, the general described the contribution of the Austrian blue helmets as "precious" who "with their work contribute to the success of the mission". Austria is present in southern Lebanon with about one hundred and eighty peacekeepers, to which tasks of a predominantly logistic nature are entrusted.
