Donation of computer systems for the “Al Mabarrat Alishraq” orphanage school by the Italian contingent employed in the Land of the Cedars this week in the district of Bint Jubail, in southern Lebanon.

In the presence of local civil and religious authorities, Brigadier General Francesco Olla, commander of the Joint Task Force - Lebanon, inaugurated the new computer room of the scholastic institute, now equipped with 35 complete and latest-generation personal computers. The school is attended by around 870 students aged three to thirteen, 200 of whom are permanently hosted as orphans or adopted at a distance.

Aimed at consolidating relations between the peacekeepers Italians and the population of South Lebanon, the donation was promoted by the CIMIC staff (Civil and Military Cooperation) which has always worked in favor of local authorities and non-governmental associations, as dictated by the Resolution of the 1701 United Nations Security Council.

The current Italian operation "Leonte XXII" is based on the "Granatieri di Sardegna" brigade and the units deployed are ITALBATT, a maneuver unit based on the "Lancieri di Montebello" regiment (8 °); the Combat Support Battalion (CS Bn), head of command of the "Granatieri di sardegna" brigade; the Combat Service and Support Battalion, based on the "Aosta" logistic regiment.
