In recent days, the Italian contingent, based on the Taurinense alpine brigade engaged in the UNIFIL mission, has completed two important projects in favor of institutions and the local population of southern Lebanon.

The projects allowed the construction of two photovoltaic panel lighting systems in the municipalities of Dair Ntar and Kafra, set up with low-consumption LED lamps.

The street lamps will illuminate road sections near the villages without the aid of the electricity network, which in southern Lebanon only works for a few hours a day, and will also ensure greater control of the villages and their suburbs during night patrols.

During the inauguration ceremonies, the mayors of Dair Ntar and Kafra expressed their appreciation and gratitude to the military of the west sector of UNIFIL for the work just finished, underlining the fruitful collaboration between the Italian contingent, the institutions and the local population.
These activities are carried out constantly by the Italian blue helmets, in full implementation of the tasks assigned to UNIFIL by the United Nations 1701 Resolution.
