The Italian contingent involved in the UNIFIL mission in southern Lebanon today concluded a donation of toys for the children of the "IBDAA" school of Aita Ech Chaab, a village in the province of Bint Jbeil near the Blue Line that separates Lebanon from Israel.

The institute, which welcomes children between the ages of 3 and the 25 years, ensures special assistance to its guests with different abilities, guaranteeing them also specialized care, physiotherapy and psychological support in order to help them with their insertion in civil society.

The contingent, represented by Colonel Daniele Bolzoni, commander of the CSS Battalion, has therefore organized this event of direct distribution to the small guests of a substantial quantity of toys collected in Italy by the Rotary International Lugo association, by the Atlantic Club of Bologna and by the "Caritas Sant'Agata ”and Volunteer work“ Buonincontro ”.

The Italian contingent, based on the Friuli Aircraft Brigade under the command of General Salvatore Cuoci, carries out this kind of initiatives that have a way of helping and maintaining structures of this type, which are important for allowing young people to enter society.

The president and founder of the institute, Ms. Daad Srour, underlined the importance of the role of the Italian contingent in South Lebanon, especially the support to all social and cultural associations and organizations.

Just the support to the local authorities, together with the re-establishment of the conditions for the assistance to the population are among the main tasks - together with the monitoring of the cessation of hostilities and the support to the Lebanese Armed Forces - assigned to UNIFIL by the United Nations 1701 Resolution.
