Lebanon: the Italian contingent continues to support the population

The Italian contingent, based on the Alpine Brigade Taurinense, has completed new initiatives and donations for the Lebanese population while continuing to support the development of projects dedicated to schools and culture and completing the implementation of infrastructure and environmental recovery projects.

At the primary school of Yarine Italian blue helmets have delivered school materials and completed the safety of the external areas the school structure, in order to make it usable for motor and social activities of the small pupils, while at the secondary school of Ramadya was inaugurated a library that will host texts in various languages ​​donated by various Italian and international benefactors.

In the villages of Srifa of Al Qallawya, Harris and Bidyas, the Alpine troops of Taurinense have completed the delivery of new lighting systems with photovoltaic panels, strongly requested by the population to improve the livability of the municipality, continuing a larger project that provides for the lighting of all over 100 villages in the sector.

The installation of electric generators at the ISF (International Security Forces) shooting command has allowed the creation of a new operations center which will have the possibility of coordinating security activities with other Lebanese security actors and UNIFIL.

Italbatt, the operational pawn of the contingent, finalized the delivery of school materials and toys in the primary schools of Al Mansouri and Naqoura during a cultural day organized for students and families.

The toys were donated by the International Association Regina Elena and the Order of Malta Section Liguria and by the UNUCI while the scholastic material by the BM Artigrafiche, which have adhered to the solidarity initiatives promoted by the Nice cavalry regiment (1 °) in phase of mission preparation.
