The Italian contingent of UNIFIL, currently composed of units of the Alpine brigade Taurinense, has completed and inaugurated an important project in favor of Internal Security Forces Lebanese, (ISF) at two of their infrastructures in the city of Tire.
Specifically, the supply of four medium and large capacity generators installed at the main ISF bases in southern Lebanon was completed in order to implement the supply of electricity to the command and control centers of the internal security forces, compensating for the lack of energy which in southern Lebanon is limited to a few hours during the day.
During the inauguration ceremony, held at the command of the 2nd ISF Mobile Regiment, the local authorities expressed their deep gratitude and appreciation for our blue helmets. This kind of collaboration, in addition to testifying the close proximity of the Italian contingent to the Lebanese institutions, contributes substantially to the support of the Lebanese armed forces as envisaged by the UN resolution 1701.
